**Job Title**:Common Room Catering Assistant

**Reporting to**: Head of Catering, Deputy Head of Catering, Supervisors Common Room President.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:
**Main duties**
- To assist the management team in the provision of food and beverages to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations.
- To assist in the maintenance of high standards in hygiene and Health and Safety.
- To ensure the safe delivery to Departments of external and internal post.
- To ensure that the College’s control systems are operating efficiently within the Department, taking corrective action where necessary.
- To ensure that all foods to be served from the Common Room or designated function areas, are presented in accordance with College standards.
- To monitor the implementation of cleaning schedules, taking remedial action as required.
- To ensure all temperature checks are carried out and recorded to the standard required to company policies.
- To monitor and control supplies of food items to the Common Room.
- To monitor the food handling practices, customer liaison, working methods of staff, and standards of personal hygiene, taking corrective action where necessary.
- To ensure staff Common Room breaks are ready on time.
- To promote a professional image and good customer relations.
- To carry out any reasonable request by the management team.
- To attend meetings and training meetings.
- To assist with internal and external functions when required.
- To work alongside the Catering Assistants in the Dining Hall from basic food prep to serving on the counters during downtime in the common room.
- To ensure all external and internal post is collected from the Post Room and delivered to the correct Departments, and vice versa.

**Application Procedure**:
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13,543.20 per year

Expected hours: 6 per week
