Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Reports To: Finance Manager
Job Overview: To provide support to the payroll function and to undertake a range of administration and finance related duties as and when required.
Responsibilities and Duties
To support the payroll manager in the preparation and timely delivery of monthly payroll processing. Including and not limited to:
? Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions. Ensuring employees receive the correct pay, bonus, and benefits at the right time.
? Timely payment of payroll, and all taxes and other liabilities associated with it.
? Preparing and drafting documents such as pay slips, P45s and other earning statements and issue accordingly.
? Statutory filings, plus pension submissions.
? Responding to payroll and tax queries from staff, employers, or clients.
? Accurately maintain employee and payroll records with updates, such as adding new starters, processing leavers, holiday and sickness absences and pay rate changes.
? Promptly resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.
? Interact and reconcile payroll postings into costing systems.
? Always maintaining confidentiality.
? Monthly/annual financial reporting processes
? Annual tax year end processes
In addition, the job holder will be required to provide support to the wider finance function primarily and not limited to:
? Vehicle fleet administration
? Credit card expenses
? Ledger processing
Key Skills and attributes
- Familiarity with payroll software and processes. Experience with Xero desirable but not essential.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong mathematical and analysis skills.
- Understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Great time management and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong Excel skills, plus familiarity with other Microsoft Office programs.
? Strong can-do attitude.
? Confident to recommend improvements that promotes efficiencies.
? Knowledge of electronic time keeping systems
? To ultimately assume responsibility of the payroll function following a reasonable training period.
