**The role**

Tameside Children’s Services are seeking to appoint Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our dedicated Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Team. In this role, you will provide management of safeguarding allegations and concerns raised against people who work with children and young people. This will include safeguarding activity within and across agencies inside and outside the council (including schools, voluntary organisations, clubs and independent organisations).

The post holder will promote excellent practice and outcomes, and consistent thresholds for intervention across services. The role will also include providing training and awareness raising in relation to the safety of children in professional care to organisations across Tameside.

**About you**

You will be educated to degree level and professionally qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration. This role also requires relevant post qualification experience gained in the management of social workers, managers and safeguarding.
