We are looking to appoint a Radiographic Assistant on a fixed term basis to assist in the provision of a high-quality Radiographic Service within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, whilst complying with all Trust and Department policies and procedures.
To undertake a range of radiography related duties to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures, to assist radiographers and radiologists in their duties.
To carry out a range of clerical and administrative duties.
Experience within Radiology is essential for this role as band 3 work requires assistance to Radiologists with sterile procedures and a fast-paced working environment in the Breast Clinic.
Will possess good written and verbal communication skills to facilitate the provision of routine information to others including staff and patients and carers using tact and/or persuasive skills.
Work within department protocols. Capable of providing a first line enquiry for patients and telephone queries.
Capable of having a range of work procedures and practices with a base level of theoretical knowledge after a short period of induction and training.
Knowledge of image processing equipment.
Experience of computer use including basic keyboard skills to process patient details and access previous examination details.

Assisting Consultants, Sonographers and Radiographers whilst performing diagnostic examinations. Patients will be attending for Mammography, Computerized Tomography (CT), ultrasound investigations and interventional procedures.
Assisting in the maintenance and use of image processing systems and accessory equipment.
Carrying out clerical, reception and stock taking duties.
