Trainee Wireman

Job Scope

Learning to amend and wire control panels, using saws, drills and assembling wiring looms, along with low voltage electrical work in Substations throughout the UK.

Needs to Have:

- Previous experience using tooling such as saws, drills
- Knowledge of wiring would be highly essential
- A minimum education level at A-Level including Maths, English and Science depending on experience
- Good personal computer skills using outlook, excel and word
- Clean UK driving licence

Your location for work will vary from site anywhere in the UK to the GSS testing facility based in Jarrow building up test rigs, wiring etc.

You will learn to:

- Fit, wire and assemble control panels
- Basic mechanical fitting I.e., drilling, hole punching, tapping etc
- Follow schematic drawings
- Wiring to a high standard
- Basic electrical test and inspection
- Maintain production build documentation and complete forms as required by in-house procedures
- Liase with other departments as required to resolve build and design issues
- Delivering maximum productivity and best value to the highest of standards

Essential skills:

- Must be able to take instruction
- Be hard working and conscientious
- Willing to work away from home from time to time
- Minimum working age of 18 required for working environment and health and safety

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £18,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
