The Commercial Legal Counsel based in the Legal and Compliance team, will play a key role by partnering with our Corporate Partnerships Development and Corporate Partnerships Management Teams. As a key partner to this business area, this role will support the Client to achieve its mission by supporting the securing of new impactful partnerships in line with their strategy, helping to catalyse change at scale whilst growing support for their mission,raising vital funds for it's work, and getting them into the daily lives of their potential supporters and inspiring millions to act. The Commercial Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing commercial contractual and non-contentious legal advice primarily to the Corporate Partnerships Development and Corporate Partnerships Management teams. Comfortable in drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts, you will embrace the challenge of a commercial contractual workload and the opportunity to work directly with and advise internal clients as well as liaising and negotiating with corporate partners.You will be comfortable identifying and mitigating risk and supporting colleagues to achieve their objectives whilst protecting our interests. **Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**: The Commercial Legal Counsel will: - Partner with the Corporate Partnerships Development and Corporate Partnerships Management Teams in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts with corporate partners. - Support the Corporate Partnerships Development and Corporate Partnerships Management Teams on contract management, internal and external communications and contract development. - Create and maintain standard corporate partnership agreements, and associated guidance notes. - Work with the Head of Legal & Compliance to provide timely and practical legal advice to the organisation seeking the most beneficial and cost-effective solutions having regard to organisational risk. - Assist the Legal & Compliance Team as required, including advising on commercial contracts for other departments as required, alongside other ad hoc duties. **Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge**: - Qualified solicitor or barrister holding a current UK Practising Certificate, or someone with an equivalent level of experience or qualification. - Detailed knowledge and significant experience of non-contentious commercial contracts - Experience working in an in-house environment preferred but not required. - This role may suit someone with 4/5 years+ PQE or someone with equivalent knowledge and experience. **Skills & Competencies**: - Able to deliver with sound judgement and the ability to be proactive and to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment. - Motivated problem-solver, with a focus on practical solutions. - Ability to recognise the importance of the commercial context of their advice. - Great at building relationships, inspiring trust and confidence with a personable approach. - High ethical standards. - Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in a proportionate way. - Ability to synthesise complex information and present it clearly. - Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and a self-starter who is able to work independently with limited resources. - Natural team player and collaborator, who is committed to the internal values. The role offers great working conditions in one of the greenest offices in the UK and they also offer up to four days home working. They will also consider the role on a 4 days per week basis (pro rata).
