- £45,000-£55,000 dependent upon experience
**THE ROLE**:
An exciting opportunity to join a supportive and progressive regulatory body covering a fixed term period of maternity leave. This is a truly exceptional opportunity for an experienced Regulatory Lawyer to join this organisation as a member of the senior leadershipteam, reporting directly to, and deputising for, the CEO. You will act in an advisory capacity to the board and will manage key stakeholder relationships on behalf of the organisation. Alongside these duties you will also be responsible for investigating asmall caseload of highly complex complaints and conducting prosecutions where necessary. The implementation of a new complaints procedure provides an exciting new challenge for the successful individual, with the opportunity to make this project their own.
This role offers a new challenge for a well suited to a talented regulatory lawyer, combining complex case management with leadership, and influencing policy within the sector. You should also enjoy working in an intellectual stimulating environment and havea passion for learning about new sectors and the related ‘schools of thought’. This role is a hands-on and highly visible position with an opportunity to make a genuine difference.
**THE CANDIDATE**:
A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 3 years PQE, you will have gained substantial experience within regulatory law, and will possess the ability to handle regulatory complaint cases from instruction to completion. Excellent influencing skills andcommunication capabilities are essential for this role.
You will be seeking an opportunity to take on a leadership role, contributing to decision making and providing advice as the in-house legal expert for the organisation. You will have an inquisitive mind and will want to immerse yourself in this new sector,learning about the issues affecting members and considering how to balance these effectively. You will have experience in robust decision making and defending against appeals as necessary. As an experienced locum you will be able to hit the ground runningand adapt quickly to a busy workload.
