**About The Role**:
**Working Pattern**:Monday to Friday
This position is home based, with regular travel to different sites across the country.
To support the Facilities and Engineering teams by managing the safe retrieval, documentation, and handling of engineering assets across a national estate. This includes mechanical, electrical, and building services equipment. The role ensures assets are managed in alignment with ISO 55001 asset management frameworks and SFG20 asset naming conventions, contributing to accurate lifecycle tracking and compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, log engineering assets such as HVAC units, pumps, motors, control panels, and tools from various sites across the UK.
- Support planned maintenance, decommissioning, and upgrade projects by coordinating asset removal and redistribution.- Maintain accurate records of collected assets using CAFM systems, ensuring alignment with ISO 55001 asset management principles.-
- Inspect returned assets for condition and completeness; report faults, damage, or missing components.- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient asset handling.- Assist with the secure storage, recycling, or disposal of obsolete or surplus engineering equipment in line with environmental and compliance standards.
- Ensure all asset movements comply with health, safety, and manual handling regulations.
**Requirements**:
Essential:
- Experience in a facilities management, engineering, and/or technical environment.- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems or components.- Understanding of ISO 55001 asset management frameworks.- Knowledge of SFG20 asset naming conventions.- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and stay away from home when required.- Good physical fitness and ability to handle heavy or bulky equipment safely.- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.- Basic IT skills and experience with asset tracking or CAFM systems.
- Awareness of health and safety practices in an engineering context.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of building services systems (e.g., HVAC, BMS, electrical distribution).- Forklift or manual handling certification.- Experience working in a regulated or safety-critical environment (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, data centres).
- Full UK driving license.
Working Conditions:
- National travel with overnight stays required.- Physical work in plant rooms, rooftops, basements, and service areas.- May involve working at height or in confined spaces (with appropriate training and PPE).
- Occasional out-of-hours work to support critical maintenance or shutdowns.
Training & Development:
- Full induction and role-specific training provided upon joining.- Ongoing training in asset management systems, ISO 55001 standards, and SFG20 conventions.- Opportunities to gain certifications in manual handling, health & safety, and equipment operation.- Access to internal and external development programs to support career progression within Facilities and Engineering.
