An exciting opportunity has arisen for Betsi Cadwaldr Health Board (BCUHB) to appoint a Head of Value-Based Care, with the post holder being an integral part of the expanding Transformation & Improvement senior leadership team. The post holder will have strategic and operational management lead responsibility for the design, monitoring and reporting of the VBHC programmes across all services and departments throughout the Health Board.

They will lead clinical teams to embed value based methodology providing support and delivering learning sessions. The value based programme will show emphasis and delivery in the three elements of value;
- Personalised value, focusing on outcomes
- Technical value, focusing on unwarranted variation in clinical practice
- Allocative value, focusing on how we allocate resources across the system to maximise outcomes.

The Value Based Healthcare agenda will contribute to the delivery of the Health Board’s long-term strategic plans contributing to the improvement of quality, patient outcomes and meeting the Board’s financial and sustainability targets.

The post holder will ensure that the VBHC methodology and approach leads to tangible and demonstrable improvements and efficiency in pathways. The VBHC programme will be managed using appropriate project management methodologies, service improvement tools and techniques.

The post-holder will provide the senior level of expertise and leadership on all aspects of VBHC across the Health Board and will lead on driving and supporting all Divisions and Services across the Health Board in improving efficiency and value, delivering the wider transformation agenda and return on investment.

They will lead the VBHC team with specialist knowledge and will work closely with and support the rest of the Transformation and Improvement functions in the use of VBHC principles. The post holder will also support / lead on required interventions to ensure improved performance.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
