**Job description**:
**Role**
- This will involve leading a team through issuing summonses and undertaking prosecutions in the Magistrates and/or Crown Court for a broad range of criminal offences, and/or instigating and following our own regulatory enforcement process (potentially taking the case as far as the Upper Tribunal and appeals courts).
- We are looking for an individual that will be willing to support the work we do across the Enforcement Directorate. This includes working in the Investigations Team but also in the Proceedings Team, when necessary.
**Responsibilities**
You will:
- Establish and deliver regulatory strategies for enforcement
- Negotiate required outcomes of cases with the relevant parties, internally and externally
- Make decisions on case strategies and emerging issues on cases
- Support Lead Specialists in their role on individual cases and required areas, both internally and externally
- Manage a portfolio of cases within required KPIs
- Escalate cases as required per the decision-making framework
- Deliver regulatory case work in line with KPIs and the schedule of delegations and in accordance with the decision-making framework
- Develop and implement case strategies
- Work with wider case team to achieve required outcomes
- Carry out prudent financial management of investigation costs.
**Responsibilities**:
**Essential and desirable criteria**
**Essential**
- Experience of leading, decision making and delivering regulatory outcomes on a range of regulatory, civil and/or criminal cases
- Experience of analysing complex financial information and identification of risks
- Experience of communicating at all levels, including drafting enforcement notices, escalations and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of negotiation and influencing at a senior level in a commercial, legal or regulatory environment
- Experience and working knowledge of legal requirements relating to enforcement outcomes
**Desirable**
- Experience of using a broad range of tools to achieve a positive regulatory outcome in regulatory cases, including consideration of and use of settlement and powers
- Experience of using risk mitigation strategies and techniques
- Awareness of relevant aspects of investigation techniques and legal requirements
- Financial and commercial awareness
