**Security Architect (Firewall Design)** **Utilities** **Remote working / may occasionally pop into office for a workshop** **6 months** **£750 per day** **In short**:Our client is looking to build a new internet gateway and DMZ and we need a Security Architect to consult with us on what is the best solution(s), validate the gateway and then produce a design that will be presented to the business. **Job Purpose**: The Security Architect must be able to interpret high level business requirements and communicate them to highly technical security engineers; conversely, they must also be able to articulate highly technical issues to a non-technical business audience. You will be working remotely but there will be rare occasions when you will be needed onsite. **Primary Roles & Responsibilities**: - Researching, defining, and testing business requirements for secure connectivity within CNI environments - Communicating with business users, support staff, security professionals and third-party providers - Architecting solutions to meet business requirements, documenting and producing proposals for consideration - Producing options analysis and feasibility studies into proposed solutions - Articulating proposed solutions to a non-technical business audience **Skills & Qualifications**: - Experience with cybersecurity functions, including risk management, vulnerability assessments, security assessments, strategy and program development, network architecture designs, and/or monitoring solutions - Experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentications systems, log management, and content filtering - Experience with cybersecurity tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks - Experience with cybersecurity standards and best practices and how to integrate them - Ability to create cybersecurity documentation, including security policies, plans, and procedures - Ability to analyse and suggest recommended improvements to the industrial control system programs and systems to meet industry standards and best practices **Knowledge and Capabilities**: - Experience with systems security engineering, design engineering, security tests and evaluations, and risk assessments for SCADA, ICS, and enterprise-level IT systems - Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP), Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certifications - Experience of designing and managing security controls within service providers and the cloud - Proven track record of successfully delivering business requirements to time and budget constraints - Strong communication (written and verbal), leadership and partnering skills - Able to demonstrate a high degree of credibility and influence senior stakeholders within the organisation - Prepared to challenge the program and IS colleagues and have the "difficult conversations" where needed in the interests of the business - Able to operate as a highly independent worker and as part of a strong team/collaborative approach
