Production Line Leader

**Line Leader Reporting to Shift Leader**

**Purpose**:
To be a responsible member of the team and assist the Shift Leader/Production Manager by working as part of a team within a given work area and carry out their tasks as given by them, seeking advice from them if you are unsure about anything, and raising any potential issues.

**Responsibilities and Skills**
- Ensuring enough raw material are available in advance of Production.
- Monitoring the production of all types of bouquets and plants to ensure the specifications required by the Customer are achieved consistently.
- Communication with the Shift Leader/Managers on the efficient operation of the production line.
- Coaching the production employees: motivating, supporting, instructing as required.
- Visual checking of the flowers, packaging and finished products on the production line to ensure they meet customer specification.
- Noticing quality deviations and discuss this with the Shift Leader/Production/Quality Managers.
- Competent with Administration, specification, work sheets and line checks are done.
- Ensuring regular production checks are made on Labels/Sleeves and Specifications.
- Comply with the Company rules and regulations as detailed within the Company Handbook
- Ensure effective product handling to prevent damage throughout the production process.
- Inform Shift Leader of any maintenance problems.
- Ensure the production areas are organised and housekeeping standards are maintained as per the Company policy.
- Be expected where possible to cover extra shifts.
- Entering and recording production information and orders in the current computer system, completing, and filing applicable paperwork correctly in a timely manner.
- Helping to ensure the finished product meets our internal standards of quality and to ensure continuous improvement of the Production areas, through production targets, change over times.
- To work hygienically and safely by following company procedures as explained at induction or within the company handbooks.
- Good housekeeping - ensure equipment and machinery has been pre checked, is clean and work area tidy.
- Help others by example and challenge mess clean as you go.
- Make sure foliage/waste on the floor is kept to a minimum and that spillages are cleaned
- Ensure they work in a clean and safe manner
- Any other tasks required by the Shift Leader/Production Manager, in line with the level of scope of the position.
- Undertaking extra tasks and working closely with Production Shift Leader and the team.

Hours: Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday - Start times to be advised by manager.

**Knowledge**
- Horticultural Knowledge ideal, but not essential.
- Company procedures and work methods.
- Level English: Good.
- Policies as detailed within the Colleague handbook.
- Customer specifications and requirements.
- Quality requirements of the company.

**Considerations**
- The business needs of the Company vary on an ongoing basis, and overtime may be required at short notice
- Our busy/peak periods will require substantial overtime including extra working days.
- To undertake other tasks as required from time to time as assigned by Shift Leader/Production Manager.
- Lead by Example and challenge everything that is not correct and improve on it.

**Other Considerations**:
Hourly Pay**: £11.70 Per Hour, Overtime to be paid after 42.5 hours at £14.62
Holiday**: 28 days including bank holiday

**Salary**: £11.70 per hour
