It is a really exciting time to join the Reach family at **The Express.** Due to our sustained growth and our committed future growth plans, we are now looking for a **Deputy Features Editor** to join our team.

We are looking for someone who can bring in everything from ground-breaking investigations, real life stories and big celebrity interviews to behind the scenes secrets of the top tv shows.

Reporting into the Head of Features, you will work closely with the features team to create and source strong features and ideas for our print editions and online site.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content

**Key Responsibilities**
**What will the role involve?**
- Coming up with brilliant exclusive features, splashes, sparkling ideas, campaigns, interviews and comment pieces in accordance with IPSO and legal requirements
- Ensure the Express features are agenda-setting and in line with the editorial stance
- Creating and pitching exclusive daily ideas and features for both the print edition and Express online banners
- Encouraging collaboration in the newsroom and supporting other departments
- Working closely with the news and picture desks and Express Online
- Commissioning comment pieces from experts, journalists and commentators
- Ensuring we are driving audience engagement through quality Feature articles and comment pieces

**Who are we looking for?**
- An experienced journalist who has done feature writing at a national level previously
- Will have a bursting contacts book and be willing to make new contacts
- Extensive experience in a fast-paced newsroom or magazine
- The ability to work well with colleagues
- To have excellent ideas across all genres and the ability to make them work for the Express audience
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
