**Job Summary**
**Job Requirements - Head Cook/Chef**
- Have the ability and a good understanding of the preparation of fortified foods for special dietary requirements and modified texture diets and fluids
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
- Flexibility to work a 7 day rota including weekends
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining area, including proper storage of ingredients and stock rotation.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock supplies are ordered.
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials.
- Prepare staff rota to ensure appropriate cover at all times including public holidays
- Maintain Cooksafe/HACCP systems manual and carry out checks and audits to ensure all scheduled work is completed in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and food safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
**Experience/Requirements**
- SVQ/NVQ Certificate in Cookery or Equivalent.
- Proven experience as a cook in a care organisation or similar culinary setting is essential.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
- Experience in managing a kitchen team is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for quality home cooking and baking, and commitment to delivering nutritional menus for older adults.
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
