Focus internally uses bespoke billing & CRM platforms, which are developed and operated via a small internal development team (we are also embarking upon an exciting transformation journey which will see Salesforce and ServiceNow implemented across the FocusGroup of companies). To ensure the success of more complex pieces of work we are seeking to improve the analysis and definition phases of the delivery process. This will be the initial appointment of a Business Systems Analyst in Focus, with some initial establishmentof ways of working required.

This job bridges the gap between core business functions (Sales, Operations, Finance) and the Technology team. The Business Systems Analyst will help identify and specify solutions to business challenges and then ensure the development team understand anddeliver those solutions.

Principal Responsibilities/Duties
- Meet with business stakeholders and users to fully understand the problems they are seeking to resolve, and opportunities they would like to unlock via system development, producing structured requirements/user stories to document these
- Challenge users to identify edge cases and scenarios which would be used as tests and success criteria for the required development
- Work to produce a basic business case/justification for the development and present this as part of regular project prioritisation sessions
- Together with systems architects, work to find an acceptable technical solution which meets business needs, adjusting scope or approach as needed and gaining stakeholder agreement for any changes in approach or compromises required
- Participate in UAT and post-delivery review for systems development

Essential Skills
- Prior experience in a similar role due to requirement of establishing ways of working
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and bringing structure
- Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical people
- Ambitious, team player with 'can do' attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to collaborate with others
- The ability to perform well under pressure
