**Project description**:
Volunteering is a team within Depaul which focuses on supporting volunteers in working with clients. There are many different roles for volunteers in this team and have access to a wide range of training and development opportunities. This volunteer will be completing their volunteer work remotely and working with Depaul Nationally.

**Aim of the volunteer role**:
The volunteer in this role will remotely deliver training to new volunteers, this will include the volunteer induction training and the volunteer mentor training. The training sessions last no longer than six hours over zoom and take place during the day, evenings and occasional weekends. This volunteer will be trained by staff on how to deliver the training and will be fully inducted into their role. This volunteer will also be able to support staff in developing the training and giving new volunteers confidence in starting their role.

This volunteer role will provide the volunteer with skills and confidence in public speaking and leadership. A reference can be provided a after six months of volunteering and this role can be added to the volunteers CV.

**Main Tasks**:

- To deliver Induction Training to new volunteers
- To deliver volunteer mentor training to volunteers
- To deliver training sessions on zoom including the use of break out rooms and other tools on zoom
- To share experience, knowledge and skills with new volunteers and give them the confidence in starting their role.
- To support staff on the volunteering team to develop the training and make changes when needed
- To attend Induction and support sessions
- To adhere to the terms of Depaul UK’s policies

**Necessary skills, attitudes and knowledge**:
Eg. communication skills, experience with the use of IT such as PowerPoint, Microsoft office etc, confidence in speaking in groups and leading on group tasks. An understanding of homelessness and a non-judgemental attitude and commitment to the work of Depaul UK.
