The Chief Executive Officer leads both from the front and adaptively to ensure and develop our services are the best they can be for people who need support with their mental health.

At this time, we are in particular looking for someone who shares the ambition of the organisation to contribute to the well-being of all our local communities and who has the drive, talent an ability to develop the charity. Ideally you will have experience of developing services with communities and people at their heart, networking well with a diverse range of stakeholders, identifying partners and opportunities for collaboration. You will feel energised by what’s possible for the well-being of people in Ceredigion and you are comfortable with change management.

We also want a people person, someone who knows the value of compassionately valuing staff and who can demonstrate this in their behaviours, values and attitudes. We want someone who can uphold Mind’s values both within and outside the organisation.

**Salary**:£37, 000 - £40,000K per annum

**Hours**: This is a full time position but a job share would be considered

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Strategic development and service design, delivery and evaluation;
- The development and implementation of policies and procedures;
- Robust financial and risk management;
- Staff recruitment, induction, supervision and management, development and empowerment;
- Service user involvement policies and procedures;
- The statutory responsibilities attached to the post of Company Secretary;
- The overall responsibility for Health and Safety and Safeguarding;
- To be an ambassador for Mind Aberystwyth.

The Chief Executive Officer stands as professional advisor to the Board of Trustees and will need to be flexible in his/her approach to the role. This Job Description covers the principal responsibilities and duties of the role, however as small and growing charity, it may be necessary for these roles and responsibilities to flex according to the demands of the job.

**Required Experience, knowledge, qualifications and training**:

- Extensive people management experience
- Proven track record of providing support services
- Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development and the acquiring of relevant skills and knowledge
- Experience of leading and developing excellent high quality services for people who need support
- Experience of working strategically to source and secure sustainable funding solutions
- Experience of bringing aspirational visions and innovative practice to operational reality
- Experience of setting and working with budgets and maximising the use of all available resources
- Experience of developing and implementing effective performance and quality reviews management systems so as to continually improve and innovate.
- Evidence of extensive experience of effective partnership working to collaborate and develop services
- Ability to lead and develop positive learning cultures which support, motivate and develop others Skilled communicator who can relate and engage with people at all levels within the organisation, with members of the public and external agencies
- Proven commitment to equality of opportunity and supporting diversity

**Desirable Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications and Training**:

- The ability to speak and work in Welsh.
- Evidence of working with and reporting to Trustee Boards, or Management Committees

- Additional requirements:

- Car owner/driver or the ability to travel around Ceredigion
- Prepared to work flexibly
