**About Us**:
At our Outstanding Nursery, we take pride in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in the areas of Horwich, Bolton, Adlington, Blackrod, Wigan and Westhoughton. Our spacious and well-resourced facility is highly regarded for its commitment to excellence. We are currently seeking a playworker to join our dedicated and fun-loving team.
**Position Overview**
As a Playworker, you will play a key role in supporting children in both our wraparound care and nursery setting.
This role is to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
There are a number of options of shifts for the position which can be discussed at the interview stage:
7:30am-6pm
7:30am - 9am
3pm - 6pm
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supporting our **wraparound care** sessions (**7:30-9 AM & 3-6 PM**), providing engaging and fun activities for children before and after their school day.
- Working in the nursery rooms between **9 AM - 3 PM** to support children’s learning and play, and covering staff training as needed.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Encouraging children’s independence, social skills, and emotional development through creative and structured play.
- Supporting children with mealtimes, personal care, and transitions throughout the day.
- Following nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety regulations.
**About You**
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a genuine passion for working with children. You should:
- Have experience working with children in an early years or playwork setting.
- Be creative, energetic, and able to engage children in play-based activities.
- Have good communication and teamwork skills.
- Be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of the nursery.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a relevant childcare/playwork qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Hold a valid DBS check or be willing to complete one before starting.
