**Support Worker**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to be part of an enthusiastic team, providing a service for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism in 6 flats.

You will be working for a well-established, national, charitable organisation which provides support for adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions living in the community.

**Position**:Support Worker / Casual Support Worker

**Location**: Poole, Dorset

**Hours**: Various contracted available, waking nights and casual hours available, full and part time

**Salary**: For a full-time role (37.5hrs/week) up to £19,171.79 per annum (including a geographical allowance of £1,051.00). Salary for Casual Support Worker is £10.59p/h

**About the role**:
As Support Worker you will work together with the team and in partnership with other agencies to provide an excellent service. You will be passionate about ensuring the service delivered is person-centred and supports the young people to develop their confidence,skills and independence in their new homes and in the local community including:

- Maintaining their homes
- Budgeting and shopping
- Planning and preparing meals
- Personal Care
- Accessing activities in the community (study, volunteering, social/leisure activities)
- Support with medication.

**About you**:
Many of the customers have complex needs and challenging behaviour so you will need you to have some previous experience in working in care/support.

- Flexible to work on a rolling rota
- Good at working on your own and within a team
- Have good communication skills
- Able to complete good quality support records
- Have good IT knowledge.

Although not essential, a driving licence and access to own vehicle are desirable for this role.

**To join the team as a Support Worker, you need to have received both of your COVID-19 vaccinations and provide evidence of these, unless you are medically exempt and provide evidence of your exemption.**
