We are based in Hertfordshire, in the town of Hoddesdon. The Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose built conference area has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery team, and a newly formed Formulation Development department. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), formulation development and process chemistry. Having recently undergone a period of growth and expansion, we are looking for a Lab Services Supply and Waste Operative to support and facilitate the scientific work on site by providing key stock replenishment, waste collection and lab services support in safe and efficient manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness for production equipment and facilities in compliance with GMP standards and company procedures.
- Fulfil material, equipment and stock requests for laboratory areas.
- Ensure that stock rooms are replenished.
- Deliver received items to the order originator / storage location.
- Ensure the safe removal of hazardous waste from laboratory areas and movement for onward processing in line with site procedures.
- Re-fill laboratory solvent wash bottles.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness of areas and report any cleaning needs to the Lab Services Team Leader.
- Collect dirty lab coats and replenish with clean ones.
- Ensure that all the Department’s plant and equipment is maintained and that any discrepancies are reported to the Lab Services Team Leader immediately.

**Qualification**:
**Essential Requirements**:

- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
- Have an understanding and awareness of the need for good safety processes and procedures
- IT skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.

**Desirable Requirements**:

- Previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry and of GMP
- Stock management and warehousing experience
- Previous experience of handling chemicals / hazardous waste
