**About the role**
Are you ready to lead a team that keeps our highways safe and our communities connected? We’re looking for a **Lead Community Steward** to manage day-to-day operations, support your team, and ensure our network runs smoothly.
**What you'll be doing**
- Lead and manage a team of Community Stewards, ensuring all activities meet programme and contractual timescales.
- Carry out routine and reactive highway safety inspections, identifying defects and raising works orders.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and investigate claims for personal injury or property damage.
- Attend meetings with councillors, residents, and stakeholders to represent the Highways Partnership.
- Support the wider Network Management team and contribute to service improvements.
- Help minimise third-party claims and maximise recovery on green claims.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and champion Zero Harm.
**Who we're looking for**
- Previous experience in highways inspections or operations.
- Strong knowledge of highways maintenance standards and policies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage diverse workloads and meet deadlines.
- Confident representing the partnership in discussions with elected members and stakeholders.
- Good IT skills and experience with works management systems.
- Flexible, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
