Healthcare Assistant

Job Introduction

**As part of this role, you will travel across various locations within the Teesside area so access to a car and full UK driving licence will be required.**

Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled **Health Care Assistant** to provide frontline support in our integrated sexual health service. Key responsibilities include:

- Acting as the first point of contact for patients requiring asymptomatic screening, conducting tests such as phlebotomy, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, and STI self-testing instruction.
- Assisting in clinical procedures, including the collection and recording of specimens, and providing support during implant and IUCD fittings.
- Assisting clinical staff with patient assessments, including blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI recording.
- Working within safeguarding frameworks, addressing concerns about child sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, and domestic abuse, while following protocols.
- Engaging in chaperone duties, ensuring a positive experience for clients, and participating in regular clinical supervision.

**Essential**:

- Phlebotomy qualification
- GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team

**Desirable**:

- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care
