Tractor Driver

**Overview of the role**

A busy and challenging role working with the Estates Co-ordinator, Farm Manager and Equine Business Manager to ensure that the tractor work around the estate and field management in relation to the equine department is carried out to a high standard at all times. Ensuring timely use of machinery and conducting tractor movements in connection with stabling, field management and the horses welfare.

**Daily duties are likely to include:

Distributing hay and straw bales to the various yards, barns and other as required locations.

Bringing hay and straw up from the storage facility in a timely fashion.

Unloading Hay & Straw deliveries & monitoring stock.

Emptying Muck Trailers.

Mucking out barns & pens.

Keeping the muck midden tidy and pushed up.

Maintaining and looking after tractor, telehandler and trailers. i.e greasing, blowing out radiators,

Checking oil and tyres, washing down.

Other duties may involve straw chopping, fencing and repairs, gateway and path maintenance, water trough repairs & power washing, assisting at the farm and on the gardening team during seasonally busy times as required.

**Essential Experience**

Capable of operating a wide range of agricultural and horticultural machinery and equipment safely and efficiently including tractors and telehandlers.

Personable and able to work well within a small team.

Able to work at height safely.

Flexible approach to work and a positive outlook

Understanding of personal responsibilities under Health and Safety law.

Able to carry out basic machinery repairs

Availability to work 3 or 4 days per week including one weekend day.
