**Job Summary**

It’s important for the successful individual to fit into a nurturing and empathetic delivery model that works with learners who have experienced past trauma and have had a difficult start to their life both personally and academically.

Key Responsibilities:
**Teaching & Learning**:

- Plan and prepare teaching materials, including lesson plans, resources, and assessments, ensuring they align with the curriculum.
- Provide a blend of theory and practical training, utilising up-to-date industry practices and techniques.
- Support students in developing a deep understanding of both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
- Offer personalised feedback and guidance to students to enhance their learning experience and academic progress.

**Assessment & Evaluation**:

- Design and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor and evaluate students' progress.
- Grade assignments, projects, and practical demonstrations, providing constructive feedback to support student development.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and achievement, adhering to college policies and regulatory requirements.

**Industry Engagement & Development**:

- Keep up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the Hair & Beauty industry.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including attendance monitoring, progress reports, and maintaining up-to-date records.
- Participate in department meetings, contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the curriculum.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge Needed:
**Essential**:

- Level 3 or higher qualification in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
- Demonstrable industry experience, with relevant up-to-date knowledge of the Hair & Beauty sector.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.

**Desirable**:

- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a further education setting.
- Experience in offering additional learning support to diverse groups of students.
- Creative and innovative approaches to lesson delivery.

**Personal Attributes**:

- Enthusiastic and passionate about the Hair & Beauty industry.
- Patient, adaptable, and able to work with students of various abilities.
- Professional appearance and demeanour, setting a good example for students.
- Strong teamwork skills, with a collaborative and supportive approach to colleagues and students.

- Flexible working hours during term time & between 9am-3pm.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,481.00-£29,060.00 per year
