We’re now recruiting a Process Safety - Lead Engineer to join our Governance and Integrity team here at Drax.

**About the role**

Process Safety Management is an essential element of a mature Health and Safety Management System (H&SMS).
As the Lead Process Safety Engineer you’ll identify and manage process risk to ensure that Drax protects its people, assets, reputation, and the environment by reducing the likelihood of a major accident risk.
You’ll promote process safety at Drax Power Station and contribute to the objective of consistent, safe, and reliable site operations.
You’ll identify process safety hazards and risks across the business and provide guidance and recommendations to ensure hazards and risks are adequately identified when making modifications to the plant and equipment. This includes raising awareness of risk control measures that are in place to address process safety risks.
You’ll manage and facilitate process safety changes at the site. Promote and educate colleagues in the requirement for structured management of change and when these procedures should apply.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you’ll be able to communicate and have influence at all levels of the organisation, be a strong team player and be willing to get stuck into other areas of the team as and when needed.
You’ll need to be qualified to degree level in a related discipline and have experience working at a high hazard facility in a similar role.
