Website and Content Officer

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) communications and engagement work combines public affairs, media communications, issue management, corporate and social responsibility, internal and digital communications and strategic communication advice.
As Web and Content Officer, the post holder will work as part of a busy communications team on the delivery of the Trust’s new website project solution and populate the site during construction and after initial project launch. Working as part of the website project team, they will help ensure that the Trust’s website is developed to meet the Government’ the Public Sector Regulations Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard and all content meets this standard.
The post entails being the main “gatekeeper” for the website, gathering, editing and creating engaging and accessible content to help showcase the Trust services, our people and all publicly required information, ensuring no non-compliant content is uploaded and that content is written in a way which accessible and easy to understand.
- Assisting with the delivery of a new Trust website and the content management, content creation and upload to the new site.
- Ensuring all web-content, including pages, graphics, logos and meta data is compliant.
- Ensuring no non-compliant PDFs are uploaded to the website.
Ensuring hosted video content is produced to the Trust’s video guidelines and are accessible (subtitles, transcripts, or audio description as and when required).
- Ensuring that all graphics and photography featured on the site are compliant.
- Write, proofread, and edit content for our sites to ensure the highest standards of compliance for digitally hosted written content.
- Produce appropriate progress and performance reports relating to the website’s analytics to help monitor usage, user experience and inform future development.
- Have editorial responsibility for all website content and related social media content.
- Ensuring the site is developed to meet the Trust’s branding requirements and NHS branding requirements.
- Ensure that the Communications Team members are confident and supported to carry out day-to-day editing and upload responsibilities for the new website and can effectively operate the Trust website as part of our digital resources.
- Market and promote the website internally within the Trust to our staff and volunteers and externally to the public and our stakeholders via our digital communication channels and social media channels.

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Ensuring that all graphics and photography featured on the site are compliant with GDPR and Trust processes and meet accessibility guidance for images.
- Write, proofread, and edit content for our sites to ensure the highest standards of compliance for digitally hosted written content.
- Produce appropriate progress and performance reports relating to the website’s analytics to help monitor usage, user experience and inform future development.
- Plan, coordinate and develop new creative and engaging content, images and pages with accessibility standards in mind, using various tools such as written content, video content, photography, podcasts, etc.
- Have editorial responsibility for all website content and related social media content. Develop and maintain appropriate quality control systems to ensure compliance.
- To work as part of the wider Communications and Engagement team to support the Trust's communications channels.
- Ensuring the site is developed to meet the Trust’s branding requirements and NHS branding requirements.
- Create, source and maintain content to meet the Trust and NHS branding requirements to give the website a consistent and professional look and feel.
- Ensure that the Communications Team members are confident and supported to carry out day-to-day editing and upload responsibilities for the new website and can effectively operate the Trust website as part of our digital resources.
