This is an exciting opportunity to be a senior member of the Catch22 Offender Management Unit (OMU) at HMP Thameside. A busy inner city, category B local resettlement prison, located in South-East London & operated by Serco.

You will deliver effective end to end offender management within the establishment through oversight of Case Managers when managing caseloads of sentenced and remand prisoners. Within the line management of Case Managers, you will be ensuring that offenders’ needs are reviewed and met within the appropriate timescales, dependent on individual need and key performance targets.

**As **Offender Management Unit Co-Ordinator **your main duties and accountabilities will include**:

- To maximise the performance and contribution of staff in meeting the objectives of the Offender Management regime within Thameside Prison through staff supervision, performance management, and appraisal, training, and service/team meetings.
- To assess prisoner’s risk and needs that relate to their offending using the appropriate assessment tools, e.g., OASys and inform relevant internal and external departments of the and implement required risk alerts and procedures
- Oversee and countersign risk assessments and reports from case managers in line with their daily duties.
- Ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place to deliver sentence plans and oversee the implementation of the plan by ensuring that all team members and other agencies are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
- To ensure cases are effectively managed and services delivered within the agreed timeframes.
- To oversee operational processes within Catch-22 such as Home Detention Curfew and Transfers.
- Produce relevant documents and reports outlining departmental and individual staff member’s performance as required using the prison and area’s computer-based systems.
- To develop appropriate recording systems to manage staff performance and training needs.
- Participate in quality assurance processes monthly to ensure compliance with departmental targets, in addition to adherence to local and national policies and procedures.
- To identify and assess staff training completion and future needs and source appropriate Catch22 or prison service training packages to address requirements.
- To develop and facilitate training packages specific to HMP Thameside Offender Management Team to develop and enhance staff performance.
- To provide advice, information and support to uniform officers, multi-agency workers and offenders about the nature of the Offender Management Service.
- To ensure the maintenance of the team’s database and compliance entry to the Prison’s Case Management system for the purposes of casework recording, monitoring and evaluating service provision.
- To provide cover within the Catch22 offender management department as required.
- To develop programmes that encourage offenders to challenge anti-social behaviours and make new learning in their day-to-day environment.
- Demonstrate pro-social modelling skills by consistently reinforcing pro-social behaviour and attitudes, challenge anti-social behaviour and attitudes.

**Other Duties include**:

- The post holder may be required to undertake other or additional duties as identified by the Head of Service, within the general scope of the post and in consultation with the post holder.
- Receive and respond to regular supervision from the post holder’s line manager and contribute to the appraisal process.
- To recruit for Case Administrators and Case Managers where appropriate using Catch 22 recruitment policies.
- Attend all meetings appropriate to the post, including those with other organisations.
- Produce relevant documents and reports as required using the prison and area’s computer-based systems.
- Participate in quality assurance processes as required.
- To attend Catch22, prison service and other training events as required.
- To assist the Head of Service in developing systems to ensure effective service delivery within an equal opportunities framework and promote anti discriminatory practice in all aspects of the work.
