Warper (Textile Industry)

Job description

Marton Mills is a family owned and managed têxtile weaving mill near Leeds. A position has arisen for an experienced warper to join the team on a 2 week rotation: Week 1 Mon - Wed, Week 2 Mon - Thurs. Average 42 hour week.

**Responsibilities**

Working as part of a small warp production team, producing quality warps on either the in accordance with details outlined in the process instruction sheet.

**Duties**

To work closely and instruct the Creeler as to how many cones are required to be placed in the creel.

To instruct the Winder’s on how many cones are required to be split down and to what required length.

To ensure that for every warping job the Warping machine is set up correctly
- check the stick settings, clock setting and the warp pattern.

To ensure that the warp pattern is checked by an Overlooker, Twister or Warper prior to commencing warping and also to check that the warp pattern matches that of the cad / passing standard after the first section has built up on the swift.

To ensure that the correct beam type is used as indicated on the process instruction sheet.

To ensure that all swift and beam loading are uniform and smooth.

To ensure that all yarn composition, count and shades exactly conform to the process Instruction sheet.

To ensure that all yarn for each shade is from the same lot.Except in circumstances where it is requested to do so on the process instruction sheet.

To ensure that all lot numbers are entered on to the process instruction sheet.

To ensure that all completed warps are recorded in the warp book.

To report any warping faults that are likely to cause weaving problems and also any machine faults experienced to the Weaving Director.

To operate the warping mill according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

To make uniform leno bobbins using the bobbin winding machine.

To ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained within your department.

To assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment through the strict adherence to company health and safety rules and procedures.

Ensuring that all Personal Protective Equipment as issued is used.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00 per year
