**POST TITLE**: INTERIM HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
**RESPONSIBLE TO**: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER - OPERATIONS
**OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF POST**
To support the HR team in providing a high quality and cost effective HR service that meets customer needs and achieves the HR Strategic Plan.
**KEY TASKS**
- Oversee and participate in the recruitment and selection process, including shortlisting of vacancies, interviewing and testing, preparing offer letters and contracts of employment and undertaking pre-employment checks
- Provide advice and guidance on terms and conditions of employment and policies and procedures.
- Assist with the review and implementation of employment policies and procedures ensuring they reflect best practice and current legislation.
- Organising and conducting corporate inductions for all new starters.
- Assist with for the completion of quarterly Apprentice Reviews in conjunction with line managers and relevant Training Providers.
- Conduct exit interviews with leavers and provide feedback to appropriate line managers.
- Responsible for organising work experience placements, including organising itineraries and ensuring pupils are aware of the induction process.
- Assist with the organisation and administration of employee related benefits including the Port’s health cash plan, childcare vouchers and bike to work scheme.
- Assist in arranging medicals for all staff including future personnel and update computerised records
- Ensure manual and computerised personnel records and systems are accurately updated and maintained.
- Support the development and delivery of the Port’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy including organising and overseeing wellbeing initiatives.
- Responsible for general administration duties e.g. general typing, filing, drafting correspondence, preparing minutes etc.
The above list is not exhaustive and other duties may be attached to the post from time to time. Variations may also occur to the duties and responsibilities without changing the general character of the post.
The following are standard responsibilities for all positions within the Port;
- Participate in any review / performance management process involving the identifying of training needs for self and others.
- Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
- Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of the post.
