Sales Director, Tapes & Packaging Consumables

The largest privately owned tape printer in Europe, supplying solely through a distribution partner network, seeks to appoint an experienced, commercially astute and dynamically energetic Sales Director to lead the Client interface team.

Delivering a wealth of experience built in supplying many of the leading distributors and trades in the UK, the Company was and still is, founded on putting their Distributors first.

Whilst they currently secure a leading share of the total UK market, your remit will be to develop, own and execute a strategic sales plan to realise the Company’s future growth objectives. Working directly with existing and new distribution partners to research and develop new business opportunities, whilst also leading and mentoring the internally based customer service & customer development team, in order to consistently deliver an exceptional level of customer care & business growth.

Possessing the strategic intelligence & people leadership skills to further cement their overriding passion and capability for delivering exceptional customer care, you must have proven experience of being genuinely ‘hands on’ in a diversely specified manufacturing Business and able to demonstrate a track record of close/transparent working with a dedicated & innovative Production team. You will be accustomed to leading Sales at the Client interface, commercially astute and an immediately recognisable ‘value add’ negotiator.

A key member of the leadership team, your remit will encompass responsibility for the following;
- Develop and deliver a sales strategy in line with business objectives.
- Originate and agree sales and gross profit targets.
- Directly manage and enhance relationships with key distributors, ensuring the potential demands for an increased product portfolio aligned with the technical / manufacturing infrastructure.
- Identify, research & develop new markets and products, shaping an approach to secure and deliver sustainable profitable growth.
- Lead, motivate and empower the internal Client Services/Sales Development teams.
- Train Distributors sales personnel in the Company product and service offering, whilst working collaboratively to optimise performance, ensuring policies are robust and aligned with both the business’ objectives and the expectations/demands of the Distribution partners.

Relevant Work Experience
- Ideally, a technical working understanding of Tapes, though a broader exposure to the Packaging consumables market is desirable
- Proven experience/understanding of B2B trading through (or working in) the Distributors market channel

Must Have Skills
- Commercially sound (robust price and margin management)
- Recognition & ability to deliver value streams to/via distributors, through all aspects of the supply chain (reading the market upstream and downstream / maximising opportunities)
- Strategic direction and able to work closely with a good management team (not a lone ranger)
- Strong Communication / Presentation Skills, combining energy, ambition, passion & an ethos that engages people at all levels
- Highly effective verbal & written communication, combined with a proven ability to read & compile a comprehensive analysis of current market strategy
- High level of expertise and knowledge in Sales Fundamentals (Listening, Analytical, Problem Solving, Lead Qualifying, Negotiating, Persevering, Closing, Project Sales, CRM)

**Salary**: £60,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
