**The Opportunity**

As a Risk and Assurance Advisor you’ll effectively plan, design and deliver second line assurance associated with business and data quality risks across the relevant area of Cadent and contract partners for all work types. You’ll also provide recommendations that drive effective and efficient controls and processes, drawing on best practice to support the business in its focus on continuous improvement.

Key accountabilities of our Risk and Assurance Advisor will also include:

- Contributing to the development of annual assurance plan
- Detailed planning and design of assurance activities to ensure findings are robust and statistically representative
- Delivering the data quality and business aspects of the Assurance plan to mitigate identified risks while seeking opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes
- Delivering ad-hoc investigations in response to significant business events or business change initiatives Providing effective assurance against the relevant Network Business Plan
- Producing assurance reports which effectively communicate the agreed scope of work, key findings and recommended actions
- Agreeing and managing detailed action plans with relevant stakeholders to eliminate nonconformities and drive a more effective and efficient operational approach
- Promoting shared learning across the organisation, contributing to regular planning and risk review meetings with stakeholders to share themes from assurances completed and understanding evolving risks and challenges to inform future assurance coverage
- Supporting Regulatory Reporting (RRP) activities as required

**What You’ll Bring**

We’re looking for individuals who hold the following skills and experience:

- Good knowledge and understanding of assurance delivery and practices, internal control frameworks and risk management activities
- The ability to demonstrate strong root cause analysis problem solving techniques
- Experience in change management
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment, key business drivers and Cadent’s operational activities
- Demonstrable track record of developing successful, long lasting, relationships across the business including ability to engage, challenge and influence senior managers, deal effectively with resistance to proposals and secure their buy-in and support
- Regulated utility or industry experience would be desirable

**Desired qualification requirements include**:

- LRQA Internal Auditor or equivalent course Desirable
- LEAN / Six Sigma principles

This role will also involve some travel and therefore a driving licence is essential for this role.
