We have an exceptional opportunity within the Novus People team for a HR/People Team Apprentice to play a key role in delivering our exciting People plans. Reporting in to the People Services Manager, this role offers the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of People led initiatives, adding value to an already successful business whilst studying for the level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship.
Your apprenticeship will last up to 24 months, during which time you will offer full administrative support for the People Team that compliments each part of the colleague lifecycle. This role will work closely with the whole People Team to develop a sound knowledge and understanding of the People function, creating solid foundations for a career in the organisation and ensuring the opportunity to put into practice, skills which will be key for a entry HR role.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - HR/People Team Apprentice**
As the People Team Apprentice, you play a vitally important role in offering effective administrative support that enables the smooth running of the People team, ensuring that we offer a great service to all Novus colleagues, with this in mind the roles key accountabilities are:
Supporting with administration requirements as requested in relation to
- Recruitment & Selection
- Onboarding and the New Starter Process (including the issuing of contracts and other checks such as DBS)
- TUPE
- Allocation of Mandatory Training requirements
- Processing change to Terms and Conditions of Employment
- Filing of absences Maintaining employment files
- Maternity/Paternity
- Jury Service,
- Mortgage/Rental References
- Progressing training needs without preferred suppliers, ensuring they are co-ordinated with the involvement of the business and that they meet business need
- Processing end of employment paperwork by administering leaver forms accurately and in a timely manner and following the appropriate process in line with the reason for the employee leaving the business such as Resignation, Redundancy, Retirement or Dismissal. Thereby supporting the smooth transition from employee to leaver
**SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE**
- IT & Keyboard literacy
- Demonstrate understanding of Customer Service
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent (with passes in English and Maths at level 2 Functional Skills or higher)
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
