**Field Service Engineer - GC, LC and Mass Spec** **£35,000 - £45,000 plus car, Bonus and all expenses paid** **40 hour week - Monday - Friday** **Based in the South West - commutable from Bristol, Gloucester, Bath, Swindon, Exeter, Cardiff** Our multinational client are looking for a Field Service Engineer to be based out of the South West. The region is based within an 80 mile radius of Bristol along the M4, M5 and M6 corridor incorporating parts of South Wales. The role will suit an experienced Field Service Engineer with experience in Laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting **or** an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist who is looking to move out of the Lab and use the knowledge and experience gained to service the very same instruments they have just been using to analyse samples. Duties will include servicing, maintenance and troubleshooting of GC, LC and Mass Spec analytical Laboratory equipment on a 12 week scheduled basis. This role is 80% based in the Field and 20% working from home for report writing and remote technical supportreasons. With additional training this role will also involve installation duties. You'll report into the Service Delivery Manager alongside a team of 8 who cover the UK and parts of Ireland. Each "patch" is defined and you'll be able to work a "normal" day with usually being no more than 2 hours maximum from each of your appointments.Depending on the complexity of each appointment you should be able to complete each visit within a standard working day meaning a true Work / Life balance can be achieved. Any extended site visits can still be completed by commuting from home meaning any extendedovernight stays shouldn't be commonplace however if your preference is to block out a few days any hotel stays are fully expensed including all meals etc.. **Duties**: - Troubleshooting, installation and repair of GC, GC-MS, LC, LC-MS and autosampler laboratory equipment - Completing Preventative Maintenance and in field modifications. - Ordering and managing repair parts for field repairs - Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner - Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up. - Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated. - Utilising the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues. - Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new contacts, new contracts, contract renewals and instrument sales. - Collaborate with other departments to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts. - Ensure all communications with customers are reported internally - Provide coaching, training and technical support to the FSE, Sales and Applications teams. - Manage service scheduling in lieu of Service Delivery Manager when required - Liaise with the Administration department to manage stock delivery in lieu of Service Delivery Manager when required **Qualifications and Experience**: - Ideally experience of working with GC-MS, LC-MS and GC-MSMS in an analytical laboratory however experience in servicing other types of Laboratory equipment will be considered. - Possess excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner. - Resourceful, with the ability to work independently and as a team member - Excellent time management skills - Ability to adapt to changing circumstances - Excellent decision-making, troubleshooting, problem resolution and creative thinking skills - Ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities. - BSc/BA in Chemistry, Engineering or relevant field however people without this level of qualification but with relevant experience in Field Service will be considered. - Experience in OEM Software, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook - Valid driver's license and good driving record
