Our client produces high quality general and technical metal pressing, welded assembly and laser cut metal parts and fabrications and they are actively seeking an experienced Operations Manager. The role will be part of the Senior Leadership Team with the aimof improving our business Safety culture, and Manufacturing performance.
The role of the Operations Manager is to:
*Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards. Full accountability for managing product compliance, assembly process, ensuring safety standards, quality assurance, cost control and delivery requirementsare met.
*Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes so to aid and improve operational performance.
*Take ownership of the full value stream of supply chain, planning, manufacturing and warehousing functions
*Further develop customer relationships by communicating with stakeholders
*Responsible for managing and developing employees by building positive and proactive working relationships.
*Adaptable so to promote and drive changes led by business demand, with the ability to influence change requirements.
*Lead the factory cadence and execution to ensure all plant metrics, SQDIP (safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity) are met
*Leveraging a strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, move the plant forwards in its journey of Target Zero
Experience required
*IOSH preferable
*PUWER Certificate preferable.
*Relevant manufacturing experience or heavy industry experience plus press work
*Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing
*Clear understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
*Proven success over several years in Manufacturing Operations
*Strong background in Lean Manufacturing,
*Experience working with multiple customers and suppliers in a low and high volume mix business.
*Experience in managing SOP processes.
*Partner with sales and product management team to streamline operations and deliver extraordinary customer experiences.
