**Overview**
The A&E Registrar plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the Accident and Emergency department. This position involves managing patient information, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families. The A&E Registrar will work closely with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and maintain the integrity of patient records.

**Duties**
- Greet patients and their families upon arrival at the A&E department, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Accurately collect and enter patient information into the electronic health record system.
- Verify insurance details and obtain necessary authorisations for treatment.
- Assist in triaging patients based on urgency and medical needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely processing of patient admissions and discharges.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, families, and staff regarding procedures and policies.
- Participate in departmental meetings to discuss improvements in patient registration processes.

**Skills**
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and general office software.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Empathy and compassion when dealing with patients in distressing situations.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential.
