A position has arisen for an Electrical Supervisor within a leading NHS Trust based in Manchester. This is a key role on a temporary 6 month ongoing contract basis. It is paying between Band 5 and Band 6 NHS Rates

Your duties will include:

- Undertake electrical day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, installation, and minor improvements, along with new work for all hospital sites as required
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all estates buildings, plant, equipment, and services; including statutory inspections, operation of permit to work systems and other safe systems of work and to ensure the Trust meets its duties for statutory compliance
- Support and deliver minor capital and revenue schemes including site supervision, the witnessing of commissioning tests and the production of snagging lists
- Responsible for the planned and responsive maintenance systems and ensuring the same are kept up to date with the use of manual and computerised systems.
- Work out of hours in order to achieve pre-planned maintenance requirements and conduct necessary works in clinical environments in order to minimise disruption to the hospital function
- Oversee and monitor engineering and electrical services and systems, ensuring that they are operated and maintained in accordance with all relevant current legislation and standards
- Advise the Electrical Manager on all electrical engineering services and systems, concerning any problematic areas, non-compliance with statutory or mandatory regulations and risks to business continuity
- Undertake regular out of hours on-call duties as part of the on-call team to ensure that emergency management of repairs occurring outside of normal working hours are attended, including emergency recall to work
- Investigate and report on accidents, complaints, and untoward incidents in line with the trust policy, manage outcomes/risks and present evidence to the trust's legal department as required, taking action to resolve and/or mitigate as necessary
- Undertake the role of Authorised Person as agreed with the Head of Estates
- Ensure the compliance and updating of legally required records in respect of the estate Electrical Services, Fire Alarms also including medical gases, lifts and assessing data and reports received, ensuring that any corrective actions necessary are in placeto ensure compliance
- Manage, organise, advise and liaise with external contractors on a daily basis when they are working on-site and ensure they work within the Trust's guidelines and policies
- Ensure work is carried out in compliance with all appropriate guidance and legislation, including NHS, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM's) and Health Building Notes (HBN's), British Standards, Building Regulations etc
- Full UK Driving Licence
- NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Installations or Electrical Engineering
