**Job purpose**

To immerse themselves in the political arena of the UK/Ireland to identify, analyse and interpret any information, policy, legislation and communications that have an impact on the renewable energy section, more specifically on-shore wind. To provide a weekly report to the Sales team and Managing Director regarding news for that week, highlighting key detail relevant for On-shore wind. Make suggestions, based on information analysis, as to the content of social media posts to be made by the Sales Director and Managing Director on a weekly basic.

**Key accountabilities**
- Analysing and interpreting data, policies and communication, in the renewable energy sector, with the prime focus being on the Onshore wind market in both Ireland and UK
- Keeping up to date with legislation, upcoming debates and bills affecting the onshore wind market in both Ireland and UK
- Advising and drafting media releases for social media on behalf of the Managing Director and Director of Sales
- Keeping media archive
- Providing a weekly report on key topics raised within the political arena, Scottish Renewables RUK and Wind Energy Ireland

**Personal profile**
- Knowledge and interest in politics, renewable energy, current affairs
- Strong communication skills both written and orally, confidence in working with people from different backgrounds
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Motivated to work under their own initiative
