**Electronics Hardware Design Engineer (Medical Devices, Wearables)**

Our client is a growing medical devices start-up with an exciting new muscle strengthening and nerve stimulation wearable. They are a team of nearly 30 people with the belief, passion and expertise to positively influence customers quality of life. Salesof the product in the USA are established and continue to grow and the company is very well backed and set for significant additional funding. They now have and immediate requirement for a **Principal Hardware Engineer**responsible for
- Leading all development and sustaining work across the electronics, garment, packaging and mechanical disciplines.
- Supporting the current products through their lifecycle, in existing markets and also new product and new market entries.
- Experience working within a medical device or other regulated environment.
- Strong electronic engineering capabilities and understanding of other engineering disciplines
- An interest in some of body worn technologies, muscle strengthening and nerve stimulation techniques and wearables
- A solid understanding of the manufacturing process.
- Degree in Engineering, ideally Electronic or Bio-Medical.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead the embedded hardware development - enhancements and cost reduction
- Run projects deadlines and manage delivery by third party vendors.
- Transfer of new and revised products from R&D to manufacturing
- Involvement in full product lifecycle.
- Support to manufacturing and assembly
- Design validations and FMEA’s.
- Introduce testing equipment and systems.
- Technical analysis of faults
- Risk assessment
- Regulatory, Quality and safety procedures.

**Experience**
- Bio-medical engineering device design, design for manufacture and regulatory requirements.
- Root cause analysis work, product testing, debugging
- Enjoy problem solving and suggesting product and process improvements.
- Strong Computer Aided Design skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and reporting tool skills.

**The role is offered initially as Hybrid with an expected 2 days a week at the company premises, though with the possibility for negotiation.
