We are seeking to appoint to a Consultant Psychiatrist post within Adult Mental Health Services, based in Scunthorpe and covering the area of North Lincolnshire. The Trust provides a comprehensive adult, child, older adult, learning disability, and community forensic mental health services to Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. It also provides Community Physical Health Services and Substance Misuse Services in Doncaster
With the development of specialist in-patient teams, there has been the developm ent of the concept of Purposeful In-Patient Admissions (and the Productive Ward) which offers a structured and standardized process guiding the provision of care offered to in-patients. Besides providing more focused and appropriate care with better outcomes for the patients, it has also resulted in shorter admissions. RDASH is currently engaged in a large scale review of Inpatient Quality Standards driven by a clinician-led High Quality Therapeutic Care Taskforce which will set the agenda for inpatient care over the next 5 years as part of our comprehensive and ambitious. Clinical Strategy.
The job plan relates to a whole-time appointment with an opportunity to modify this if the post is offered as part-time or job share.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within 6 months of completing their CCT and be approved/eligible for approval for Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status. They should have evidence of good communication skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
The post holder will be a leading member of the well-established multi-disciplinary team providing Consultant input into the Adult Inpatient Team. We operate a full MDT approach, with strong clinical leadership, and the post holder will work closely with Consultant colleagues in other teams. The Consultant will have a flexible time table designed to respond to the needs of the patients and carers as well as the needs of the team members for support and advice, whilst providing direct delivery of the most complex care. Ideally suited to those with an interest in service development and/or medical education and training.
This would be an ideal post for a new Consultant with a supportive peer group on offer and plenty of opportunity to grow and develop special interests in post.
