To advise and guide the Talking Therapies Service on all aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and particularly on its operation within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) framework. To have oversight of and contribute to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) activity within the Service.
To oversee the recruitment, retention, supervision and training of High Intensity (HI) CBT trainees within the Service.
The postholder will work directly with the Service Lead to strengthen the delivery of CBT-related activity across the Service with the aim of improving outcomes for patients. This will include devising a tailored CPD programme for all clinicians; implementing a supervision policy and directing supervisors; taking a lead on the recruitment and training of HI CBT trainees; improving the recruitment and retention of qualified CBT practitioners; seeking ways to involve service users in decision-making and planning; exploiting the potential of the Open Mental Health initiative; writing helpful procedures and guidelines; conducting clinical audits and service evaluations.

You need to be a qualified and experienced IAPT HI CBT clinician and supervisor, ideally having completed LTC and trauma-focussed top-up trainings. Knowledge of related interventions such as EMDR, Mindfulness and IAPT-compliant counselling interventions will be helpful.
