**Transport Planner**

We are seeking a Transport Planner to work within our manufacturing facility in King’s Lynn.

Optima Metal Services is a Multi Metal Stockholder and Processor. We have recently expanded the business thus acquiring a new site in Corby and Great Yarmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our friendly, valued team.

**Description**

You would also be responsible for producing schedules and ad-hoc reports ensuring that both vehicle and staff resource are utilised in the most efficient, cost effective way.

You will require excellent organisational skills with the ability to work multiple workflows and deadlines simultaneously, with the ability to adapt to changes and problem solve providing effective solutions in a timely manner.

**Role & Responsibilities**
- Scheduling of daily delivery/collection routes for 20 vehicles
- Prepare and monitor performance of resourcing plans for both personnel and vehicles
- Produce data and reports as assigned by your line manager
- Undertake the management of the fleet including service arrangements, MOTS and inspections.
- Monitor vehicle locations through tracking system in order to accurately relay delivery and collections with customers.
- To ensure the fleet operation is both commercially viable and is environmentally sustainable
- Compliance with all legal and regulatory bodies to offer a safe and compliant operation
- Flexibility in working hours to satisfy demands of the business will be required
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Must have 1 year’s transport planning experience
- Self-motivated, adaptable and professional attitude with an eye for commercially viable decisions and actions
- Excellent communicator both for client engagement and colleague working relationships
- Understanding of HGV driver hours regulations, tachograph rules and working time directives
- Confident IT skills, Excel, Word, Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task in a time efficient and professional manner
- Be willing to adapt and overcome issues inside and outside of hours in order to keep the smooth running of operation paramount
- Work well under pressure
