The successful individual will take forward a diverse programme of research to address the significant environmental challenges whilst ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources and the future prosperity of the agri-food sector. The research programme will use a multi disciplinary approach working across AFBI and other collaborators to addresses land and nutrient management issues to make appropriate and efficient use of resources, while protecting the environment. The integrated research effort covers the impact of agriculture on air, soil, water quality and biodiversity. The individual will demonstrate strong leadership and will be an excellent communicator to ensure the impact of the programme is realised locally, nationally and internationally.
