As a fast-paced Quality Improvement team, we are looking for someone to join us and provide communication, journalism and marketing skills to share the impact that quality improvement has in our work. Delivering high quality care is the fundamental aim for our organisation and quality improvement is an essential tool in doing that through the provision of an improvement method but importantly a philosophy. To help quality improvement to be effective and embedded in our core values, we need you to share and promote this work.

This is where we need your skills. We are looking for a narrator to develop the stories and disseminate them effectively both internally and externally. You will have expertise in sharing across multiple platforms (traditional and emerging) and the ability to create a buzz around all things QI. Being able to communicate with a wide variety of people is essential, using the most appropriate platforms such as intranet and social medial - ensuring the messages are heard. You will have a nose for a good story.

With an audience of 6500 staff and supporting a population of 1.3 million, this role is critical. We want QI to be fully embedded and the way we do things here at Southern Health, and you will help us create the narrative that develops a culture of innovation and continual improvement.

**Main duties of the job**

At Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, we are constantly working to improve our services so the people who use them have the best possible experience and outcomes. The Quality Improvement (QI) team work alongside clinical services in coproduction with service users, their families and carers to achieve this. Our aim is that everyone in the Trust uses QI to create a culture of continuous learning and improvement at Southern Health.

Working as a member of the QI team, the Communications and Engagement officer will produce informative content that focusses on engagement with staff groups, the people who use our services and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for implementing a communications strategy and will produce on-brand content for written media, our digital channels and other emerging platforms designing appealing visuals and graphics using design software to tell our story.

**Job responsibilities**

The post holder is expected to support a robust communications, marketing and engagement function which underpins the QI team ensuring:
*The development and implementation of an internal and external communications and engagement strategy, planning, message/content creation and execution of social media activity to engage with specific target audiences/segments.

*Maintain Southern Health QI digital platforms ensuring they are up to date, accurate and comply with governance requirements, working in partnership with internal and external technology providers where required building on and strengthening the QI brand in line with Southern Health values.

*Work directly with the QI team, identifying opportunities for content. Determine the best tools and platforms to achieve the most appropriate engagement in each case.

*Write compelling content for audiences across various media with upcoming opportunities, capturing success stories, sharing learning, and encouraging appreciative enquiry.

*Demonstrate creative flair and be on top of current trends and always be enthusiastic to
