**Job Overview**
THE Editor of Local Women magazine will be responsible for oversight and control of all editorial content within the publication and its social media channels.The Editor will write, source, direct and commission articles, advertising features, columns and photographic content and will have an input into the design of such, writing headlines and captions to enhance and project the page layout of the magazine.The Editor will generate original ideas, leading by example in encouraging contributors and members of the team to do likewise.The Editor will have a finger on the pulse of the magazine's readers and advertisers, having a clear understanding f the issues that interest and affect them.The Editor will demonstrate a working knowledge and experience of social issues and social activities and translate this into attention grabbing stories and talking points.These will include topics such as health, personal finance and parenting to leisure, travel, eating out (and in), fashion, books and film.The Editor will come equipped with a vibrant, outgoing personality that will be reflected within the magazine pages and on social media.The Editor will also possess a working knowledge of all aspects of the company business, including advertising, marketing, circulation, promotions, budgets and magazine production and will liaise and co-operate fully with all other departments.The Editor will be the public face of the magazine, attending company and other social events, and promoting the brand on television, radio and social media.The Editor will report, in the first instance, to the publisher and thereafter to other senior members of the company as directed by the publisher.
To fulfil this role, a minimum three years experience as a social magazine editor or head of a daily or Sunday newspaper magazine features department will be required.
**Job Type**: Freelance
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
