Prospectus is pleased to be working with a homelessness charity based in Newham, whose mission is to provide support to people who find themselves sleeping rough in East London by providing a safe and welcoming place to stay, and offering support throughthe provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities. They are seeking a Residential Engagement Officer to join their Community Partnerships Team in Canning Town.

As Resident Engagement Officer you will create a platform and resources for managers and employees to coordinate a programme of resident engagement, empowerment and involvement, which targets resources to build strong, sustainable support services that engageproactively with local communities. Reporting to the Community Partnerships' Manager, you will support residents to express their voice within the organisation, their community and local government. You will additionally support and enable residents to actaround their common concerns, listen, connect and motivate people to build their collective power and ensure that they're part of the decision-making for what their internal and external community should look like.

To be considered, you will have demonstrable experience of residential empowerment, engagement and involvement working with individuals who present with enduring and complex needs in either a residential and/or community setting. This is a crucial role forthe charity, and as such you will possess excellent understanding of the issues affecting supported housing and homelessness combined with knowledge of national resident empowerment and engagement policy and practice. Additionally, you will be customer focusedwith the ability to develop productive working relationships as well as being able to influence others and secure the co-operation of colleagues at all levels using initiative, tack and diplomacy when required. Experience of partnership working with public,private and voluntary sectors is desirable, as is knowledge of Newham communities and the wider area.
- The working pattern for this position is full-time, 37.5 hours working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm._
