- BS5009-24-320This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Brighton to contribute to Student Academic Success with the award-winning Brighton Student Skills Hub team. We are seeking a dynamic colleague to provide high quality coordination of specific projects which aim to enhance the student academic experience across the university. As Projects Coordinator (Student Academic Success) you will oversee the planning, delivery and day-to-day management of activities such as student partnership and mentor schemes, as well as providing effective administration of a range of provision conducted by the Brighton Student Skills Hub.
A key initiative planned as part of the portfolio of Student Academic Success activities includes a transformative Black Student Peer Mentoring scheme. This initiative, which forms part of our new Access and Participation Plan, aims to foster belonging and community by creating a supportive academic community among students through a paired or group mentoring model. Part of the early stages of this project will involve consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders across the university, such as the Brighton Students’ Union, the Wellbeing team and the Careers and Employability team, to bring together a comprehensive training programme for mentors.
**Your main responsibilities will include**:
- Delivering a full range of administrative and coordination for specific Brighton Student Skills Hub projects and activities, and for the wider Education and Student Experience Directorate (where required).
- Advising and assisting colleagues and students on relevant systems, processes and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
- Working closely with the People Department (HR) to recruit and onboard students partners, including induction, mentoring and ensuring the effective supervision of students.
- Coordinating and using evaluation data to ensure that the provision is effectively monitored and evaluated, making recommendations for the enhancement of the provision based on the available data.
To be successful in this role you will be
- Able to demonstrate previous administrative experience with an emphasis on supporting students or colleagues within an educational environment.
- Able to communicate potentially complex projects clearly and with confidence, as well as possess a proactive approach to problem solving and using initiative to meet your agreed objectives.
