Care Team Leader

**The Role**:

- Our client is a 39 year old man who is a wheelchair user with complex cerebral palsy. He is non-verbal but able to express his wishes and preferences.
- He loves to be taken out most days either for a walk in his wheelchair or in his own specially adapted vehicle.
- Our client requires support with all areas of daily living including personal care, meal preparation, feeding, and administration of medication.
- Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given and you will be supported by his Case Management Team.
**About You**:
As our client’s Team Leader, you will have the ability to manage and sustain a stable staff team, leading in day to day supervision of the team as well as co-ordinating his care and activities. You will be involved with all aspects of his practical care.

It is a desirable (but not essential) that you are a driver (over 25 due to insurance requirements) as you may take our client out in his adapted automatic vehicle with another member of the care team.

A committed, reliable and open person is needed who can advocate for our client and who can build a positive relationship with his family and the care team. You will be interested in a physiotherapy-based rehabilitation approach and to develop and build more social and leisure activities for our client. You will be required to be present in the pool with our client for hydrotherapy sessions (full training will be provided).

You will be positive and understanding with excellent communication skills and experienced in working with a person with a significant disability.

You will be a cheerful person who is flexible, reliable, calm and courteous. You will have a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a person with additional needs living in a family home, with a passion for providing excellent care.

**Pay**:
Day hours - £14 per hour weekdays, £16 per hour weekends, bank holidays £28 per hour - rising to £15 per hour weekdays, £17 per hour weekends and £30 per hour bank holidays after completion of successful probationary period.

Night shifts 9pm-1am at waking night rate (same as day hours above) and from 1am to 8am at sleep in rate £9.50.

**Hours/Shifts**:
The TL would be expected to carry out between 21 - 34 hours per week. These hours consist of one or two day shifts which we would prefer the TL to do at least once a week. The day shifts would be for 13 hours and typically start at 08:00 and finish at 21:00.

The TL would also carry out 8 hours of team admin time which would initially be carried out on-site. Going forward there would be the flexibility to split admin time across the week, with some of the hours being able to be undertaken remotely.

There is flexibility on the days of the week to be worked and you will devise the monthly rota for yourself and the rest of the team.

As TL you would be required to work nights on an occasional basis.

Optional overtime hours are regularly available.
