Jackson Hogg are representing a well established engineering client who are seeking Fabricator Welders on a permanent basis.

- Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Fixture maintenance - assess and carry out maintenance to ensure continued / good quality production under guidance of engineering
- Follow standard operations / work instructions and suggest improvements to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity
- Responsible for operator training to ensuring that all SOP’s / work instructions are adhered too
- Support Engineering with all issues as they arise
- Produce new / prototype fabrications off bench under own initiative and can suggest alternative ways to allow the completion of tasks quicker / to a higher standard.
- Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedure are fully adhered to in the bay
- Able to identify and correct weld defects and familiar with weld quality and aesthetic standards
- Conduct training of operators when new jigs come online
- Ensure that work is completed to the quality standards specified and all necessary records documented
- Ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adhered to in the working area
- Support the Supervisor / Team Leader in driving continuous improvement initiatives in the bay
- Attend and contribute to daily briefs as required
- Support production when requested
- Ensure the area meets and exceed the company standards on 5s

- Promote a safe working environment by directly challenging or reporting unsafe or environmentally damaging practices and hazardous working conditions.
- Be observant at all times and where applicable make suggestions on health, safety and environmental improvements that can or should be made.
- Support environmental sustainability initiatives within the company such as segregating waste and switching off electrical equipment where appropriate and not in use.
- Quality
- Assures system or product quality by abiding by ADM QMS procedures, work instructions & operating procedures.
- Quality is the concern of every employee & it is every employees duty to inform those responsible for production / quality if a product does not conform.
- Willing to certify quality of own work and overcheck and sign for others who are in training
Essential Skills
- Skilled in MIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret information required to operate equipment and meet planned output
- Able to read and interpret customer drawings and build from customer print.
- Comfortable to access and view customer drawings/models via computer when there are queries around the exact build requirement. (training will be given)
- Able to demonstrate good level of Mig welding skill (Part of skill test). Must achieve ADL approval
