**About the Role**
We're expanding our business operations team and are looking for someone with good attention to detail and immense organisation skills to join the team as an accounts assistant. The role is part time (minimum of 20 hours per week), and hours can be flexed to suit you. This is a hybrid role and will be based in Darlington with the option to work from home 1 or two days per week. We’re a fast-paced business, and as a result, this role will be varied - think of all aspects of accounts, payroll, invoicing, cashflow and everything that comes along with it Success in this generalist role would be taking responsibility for duties such as;
- Invoice creation and ensuring prompt payment.
- Bank reconciliation and comparisons to budget.
- Forecasting cashflow and managing accordingly.
- Processing VAT reports and payments.
- Working with the wider team to process payroll.
- Assisting with onboarding new team members.
- Reporting against targets and creating board summaries.
- Ad hoc duties when required.
- Process staff expenses.
- Contact customers as appropriate to request payments, keeping to timescales.
- Experience in Xero is desirable.
Salary is up to £25,000 (full time equivalent) depending on experience
**About You**
The relevant skills and experience needed to successfully deliver on all the above is crucial, of course we know that, but there's also some extra bits and personality traits that need considering too, such as:
- Being computer literate and confident using new technology systems
- Being flexible and agile in your approach to work - we're fast paced. Like, really fast and are not afraid to try new things.
- Having business acumen - working closely with the leadership team to create reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Microsoft and Excel Skills.
- Ability to maintain and develop good relationships with suppliers and customers.
Ideally, you'll also have some generalist experience of working within a modern accounts department and be qualified or part qualified in accounting.
