Apprentice Fabricator

GoodFabs are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their fabrication team as an apprentice.
**The role**
As an apprentice fabricator welder, you will be schooled in all elements of the fabricating and welding process from reading technical drawings to working with a range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, inconel and titanium. You will be partnered with a mentor who will instruct you in how to weld these various materials as well teaching you how to correctly utilise the various tools and processes required to produce a range of parts from collectors and silencers, right up to primary manifolds and race exhausts.
**Apprenticeship Summary**
The apprenticeship will be a mix of on-the-job learning and a dedicated college course.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30, 40-hour week
- Location: The GoodFabs workshop in Long Crendon, Bucks
- Apprenticeship Level - Advanced, Level 3
The successful applicant will undertake a structured apprenticeship scheme to learn / duties include:
- Making cutting lines on material
- A good understanding of workshop practices including safe use of equipment including band saws, grinding wheels, pneumatic presses, fly presses, Avamatic machines, etc to produce components and assemblies
- Sheet metal processes
- How to assemble components into assemblies following engineering assembly drawings
- To report any problem areas affecting assembly
- Logging on and off jobs via the Company ERP system
- To assist with product movement and document control around the workplace
- To retain traceability of products
- To pass on all relevant information to colleagues
- To assist colleagues and provide support to others
- To work in line with Company quality and health & safety policies
- To assist with the resolution of quality concerns

Course Details
- 1 day release every week for the delivery of the PEO Level 2 units and the BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Engineering
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 2 Award for Foundation Phase Gateway Assessment
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
